“Jesus loved little children because of their freedom from wrong and their receptiveness of right.”
(Mary Baker Eddy, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures)
Our Sunday School welcomes students up to the age of 20. Classes begin at 10:00 am, the same time as our Sunday church service, and are held in our Reading Room, located at 121 North Sequim Avenue.
Why attend Sunday School?
Sunday School provides students with a solid moral foundation for their lives. It strengthens their relationship with God and with others, spiritualizes their sense of their own identity as God’s loved children, and uplifts their sense of purpose in their families, schools, neighborhoods, and the larger community.
Understanding God as Love
Lessons for the younger children include the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20: 3 – 17) and the teachings found in Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount (The Gospel of Matthew, chapters 5 – 7), including the Beatitudes and the Lord’s Prayer. They can use these lessons wherever they are, at home, at school, or in sports activities.
How can I apply Bible truths to the issues in my life?
Older students delve deeper into the spiritual meaning of the Bible with the aid of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures. They learn that God is their trustworthy, reliable source of intelligence, health, security, supply, success, and joy. This understanding blesses their relationships with family members and peers, enables them in their academic pursuits, and empowers them to express spiritual qualities in all their activities.
Christian Science Sunday School is a grounding for life — to know that God is “a very present help in trouble.” (Psalm 46: 1)
